Keeping your protein intake UPBEAT

Diet Diet Diet – apparently its not just the gym that is necessary in achieving our beach body goals! In fact, some may say that diet and nutrition is the most important part. BUT IT’S ALSO THE HARDEST PART.

I find it utterly impossible to meet my daily protein requirement, to stay away from the Cadburys (even when it is locked in my colleague’s draws) and to prep my lunches. The diet part of looking good is something I fail on regularly.  So I have been trying to find ways of curing my treat attacks and upping my protein intake.

Enter Upbeat!  A dairy drink in lots of yummy flavours packing 20g of protein and only 150 calories.  They are the perfect way to up the protein levels whilst just sitting at your desk or walking around town.  I have been throwing one of these into my bag the past few days to sip on at work and they have taken place of my mid afternoon snack.

Now to get creative.

I get bored with drinks – if I want a snack then a flavoured drink wont do the trick.  Likewise if I want some chocolate a hot chocomilk just wont cut it.  So below are two of my favourite “different and fun” ways to use Upbeat!  Give them a go and let me know what you think!

Overnight Oats

  • One Chocolate and orange Upbeat
  • 30g oats
  • Teaspoon of chia seeds
  • Maca Powder (for extra morning pow pow pow)
  • Fresh Strawberries

Combine all ingredients in a glass jar and pop in the fridge overnight.  In the morning top with some more fresh fruit and enjoy on the go!
